In 1980
a small group of monks came from the Benedictine Monastery of
Erlach in Austria to Arizona in search of greater solitude.
With
Gods guidance we found it in the Santa Rita Mountains of
Southern Arizona .
Our monastic
day is centered around the Divine Office, Lectio Divina, monastic
studies and manual labor. As in the early monastic tradition,
and in the time of St.Benedict, we are a non-clerical monastic
community, engaging in no outside apostolic work.
Our expression
of the Benedictine life is simple: a path of transformation in
Christ within the monastic setting.
